Emma D'Souza

Hi, I’m Emma.

I found yoga early on - first through pranayama to manage asthma as a child, and later going along to my mum’s classes as a teenager. What started as a personal practice grew into formal study and over the past 12+ years, into teaching. Somewhere along the way, yoga became less of a class I attended or a job to do, and more of a lens I live through.

Here at Denmark Yoga Centre I teach Gentle Vinyasa, Sunrise Yoga and Community Meditation. I also offer workshops and short courses exploring Ayurveda, meditation, and nervous system support, with a strong interest in adapting these teachings for modern life.

My classes are breath-led and accessible, with space to move, feel, and pay attention. Rooted in the Hatha-Vinyasa tradition, postures move from warm-ups into strength-building postures for confidence and balance, and then into slower, more restorative shapes and rest.

Alongside yoga, I’ve trained in Accessible Yoga, Ayurvedic Health & Lifestyle, Yoga Nidra, Restorative Yoga, Reiki, and Remedial Massage. These all inform how I teach - practical, intuitive and with respect for the inner teacher and the body’s own intelligence.

I’m interested in yoga as something that happens off the mat as much as on it - how we listen, how we respond and how we take care of our relationships and energy in everyday life.

My aim is to help you feel more at home in your body and more steady in yourself, whatever your starting point.

I look forward to meeting you!

Denmark Yoga Centre acknowledges the Minang and Bibbulmun people of the Noongar nation as the traditional owners of the Boodjar/Country where we work, and live. We are deeply grateful to elders past and present for their care and protection of this Boodjar over countless generations.  Sovereignty was never ceded.
