Carol started practicing yoga in the nineties. During a 10 year career in the yachting industry she was able to enjoy a variety of styles with different teachers around the world. She completed her yoga teacher training in 2007 which led to teaching Ashtanga yoga in Cape Town and Mossel Bay, South Africa. During this time she also specialised in antenatal and postnatal yoga classes.

Carol moved to Denmark at the beginning of 2013, when she started Slow Flow classes incorporating the dynamic, flowing, breath-synchronized elements of Ashtanga for strengthening mind and body. With fewer transitions than Vinyasa yoga and more flow than Hatha yoga, there is time to evaluate how and when a pose should be modified.

She also holds a diploma in Thai Yoga Massage, a Bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sport Science, and a Graduate Diploma in Exercise Physiology. These days, Carol teaches a combination of yoga and pilates at Denmark Yoga Centre. Incorporating strengthening, core work, mindful movement and relaxation, this beautiful combination harnesses the physical and mental benefits of both practices. Carol is also a practising Exercise Physiologist, specialising in the delivery of exercise and lifestyle modification programs to prevent, manage or improve chronic conditions. These may include musculoskeletal, metabolic, cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological or mental health conditions. To maintain her accreditation, Carol continues to complete accredited professional development courses. These may include a broad range of topics such as breathwork, pilates, diabetes, osteoporosis or Parkinson's disease.
